On the performance of equiangular mascon solution in GRACE-like missions

Mass concentration (mascon) solutions for GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) data are widely used in various regional-to-global mass change studies. The current advances the mascon solution have mainly concentrated on improving spatial resolution of solution, enhancing applied least-squares regularization, characterization errors. Most obtained equal-area grid, inducing complexities creating grid its presentation. In this regard, estimation equiangular grids can be appealing. Furthermore, methods, there is no global criterion to determine size areas. usually chosen a subjective manner which hampers objective application different solutions. view these challenges, two main questions addressed study: i) what kind modifications should made computation scheme if account areas patches, ii) case non-equiangular solutions, how define an patch sizes based both observation signal interest. We investigate performance high-resolution mascon-based approach, proposed by Abedini et al. [2021], uses GRACE-like observations similar level-1 period one month over Greenland region. Two practical issues studied surface density changes as follows.
